Our Approach
The Collaborative ProcessThe Collaborative Process is aimed at finding creative solutions that will allow you both to move forward and thrive as individuals, without being destructive.
Sometimes separation is simply a reconfiguration of your family, and collaborative law strives to safeguard the relationships that will continue to exist between you and your spouse, as well as between you both and your children. This is done by considering the future needs of both parties rather than positioning them against one another.
Achieving Resolution

The Collaborative Approach
How It Works
- Parties choose their Collaboratively trained lawyers.
- With the help of their lawyers, parties assemble their team of additional neutral professionals, which may include a financial and/or a family neutral. These professionals give them customized advice on how to best navigate their finances, their emotions, and be able to develop a child-focused parenting plan.
- Once the team is assembled, both parties and all the professionals sign a contract stipulating that they will strive to come to a resolution within the collaborative process and ensure that the process is open and respectful.
- The parties and their professionals have team and one-on-one meetings to give them the advice they need to resolve their matter and keep a forward-going momentum.
Collaborative law strives to find a better way forward for the everyone. Children especially benefit when parents are able to work together to navigate this transitionary time in their lives.
